Disney World Targeting Early July Return of Fireworks

“Disney is getting ready to bring back fireworks in early July to Magic Kingdom. Other area theme parks such as SeaWorld and Universal Orlando have already brought back fireworks, and with the City of Orlando even announcing that there will be a 4th of July fireworks show on Lake Eola this year, Disney is not going to wait much longer to bring back fireworks of their own.

Disney has slowly been rolling back health and safety measures such as physical distancing and outdoor mask mandates — two big factors in their decision to initially suspend fireworks when the theme parks reopened last summer. Recent changes to park operations such as the return of a crowded rope drop experience at EPCOT don’t leave Disney with many excuses to not bring back fireworks.

Since last summer, Walt Disney World has been without nightly fireworks as Disney attempted to prevent crowding and put too much of a strain on their already stressed transportation networks. That said, BlogMickey.com sources have indicated that Disney has recently picked a date for the return of fireworks and that it will be in the first week of July. That said, not all nighttime shows will return at once, but more on that later.

As with any rumor, you should treat this information as unofficial unless and until Disney confirms it.”
